David Bugg B.Sc, B.App.Sc(Pod)

David Bugg is a senior podiatrist and director of Sydney City Podiatry. David has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and specialises in lower limb biomechanics and sports injuries and is regularly invited by the national media, including Channel Nine and The Sun-Herald, to share his expertise in this area. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Western Sydney and a clinical supervisor at their podiatry teaching clinic. As a former athlete David has a keen interest in the treatment and prevention of injuries in athletes, whether they be professional sportspersons or clients who like to keep fit and pain free. David's extensive experience comes from years of treating elite athletes at Valentine Park Sports Medicine Centre, Sydney AFL clubs and Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre. Playing senior Australian Rules for 14 years prior to practicing podiatry, David regularly experienced chronic shin pain and received regular podiatric treatment. Based on this personal experience, David can empathise first-hand with clients that have sports/activity related injuries.

Matthew Percy B.App.Sc(Pod)(HONS)

Matthew Percy is a senior podiatrist and director of Sydney City Podiatry. Mathew has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and specialises in lower limb biomechanics and sports medicine. Beyond Sydney City Podiatry, Mathew has presented at national and international conferences including the Australian Podiatry Conference 2001, International Olympic Conference of Sports Science 2000 and NSW Podiatry Conference 1999. He has also been published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medicine Association, received the Ted and Grace Renton Memorial Award in 2000 for Excellence in Biomechanics and featured on A Current Affair as a podiatric expert to examine the influence that running footwear have on sports injuries. Additionally, Matthew has supervised teaching clinics and lectured at the University of Huddersfield (UK) and University of Western Sydney. Matthew, a former semi-professional soccer player has had extensive experience with the treatment of elite athletes and sports people including West Ham United Football Club (English Premier League), Central Coast Mariners Football Club (Australian A-league) and Blacktown City Football Club (NSW Premier League).

Joel Urban B.App.Sc(Pod)

Joel had his first experience with Podiatry as an 11 year old growing up in Adelaide. Suffering from a growth related condition causing him to sit out from sport and other activities podiatry treatment was successful in providing relief and he was impressed! So impressed that after completing year 12 in 1995, he enrolled in Podiatry at the University of South Australia. Combining his studies with training with the Southern Redbacks – the South Australia cricket team, kept him busy and opened him up to the life of professional sport. By 2000 the cricket career was over and work as a Podiatrist commenced at the various clinics under the banner of Sydney City Podiatry. During the last 6 years Joel has enjoyed working with the young team of Podiatrists and has treated and managed conditions of people of all ages.Similar to his youth his main interests are in sport – this time sports injury and he has treated amateur footballers of all codes – runners, dancers and the occasional AFL stars. Having said that he enjoys the diversity in covering all aspects of podiatry including management of general Podiatry issues, through to the more complex problems. Working in this field seems to suit his caring, helpful personality.

Kylie Williams B.Sc, B.Pod

Kylie has always had a keen interest in diabetes and preventing foot complications. After graduating with a Medical Degree she went back to study podiatry with personal interest in chronic illness and how it affects the feet.  Kylie has had great success with wound management, managing diabetes foot problems with a specialty in laser therapy for chronic nail fungus. 

Currently she is fully accredited by the Australian podiatry association. She practices applying the most recent evidence based research to her podiatry practice.

Nancy Lee B.App.Sc(Pod)

Nancy Lee has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and, specialises in lower limb biomechanics, diabetes and nail surgery. Nancy's background in diabetic podiatry has provided her with expertise in relation to managing high-risk clients with complex medical historiesNancy sold footwear before becoming a podiatrist. This provided Nancy with footwear selection and fitting experience. Nancy is an active gymnast and dancer. Based on this personal experience, Nancy can empathise 'first hand' with clients that have sports injuries.

Sarah Howley B.App.Sc(Pod)

Sarah Howley has been a part of the Sydney City Podiatry team since 2011. She is also an active member of various sporting teams, and trained with the South Australian Institute of sport in athletics from 2000 – 2004.  It was during this period that Sarah had her first encounter with Podiatry, as she required orthotic therapy to successfully treat ongoing knee pain.  Sarah commenced her studies at The University of South Australia in Human Movement in 2005, before transferring into Podiatry in 2006 with a keen interest in sports and biomechanical injuries, which she completed in 2008.  Sarah then went on to work with a leader in the field of skin and nail care of the feet in Central London and Harrods from 2010-2012.  There she practiced nail surgery, alternative skin and nail treatments, and worked closely with numerous footwear companies.  Today, Sarah works mainly at the Chatswood Foot Clinic and also from our Darlinghurst practice, with a range of clients of all ages, in the areas of skin and nail care (including laser therapy for fungal nails), ingrown toenail surgery, wart treatment and biomechanics.

Neil Hinchliffe D.Pod.M

Neil Hinchliffe graduated at the Chelsea School of Chiropody, London 1983. He then worked out of the West Middlesex Hospital in West London for 4 years before moving to Sydney in 1987. Since then Neil has been in private practice and has worked in Chatswood for over 16 years. In 23 years of practice, Neil has undertaken such post graduate studies as advanced biomechanics and further studies in diabetes.

Matthew Roumanus B.Pod, B.HlthSci

Matthew is very passionate about helping people of all ages. Matthew holds degrees in both Podiatry and Health Sciences from the Universities of Sydney and Newcastle. He has completed various other courses in addition to these degrees which focus on alternative treatment and assessment protocols. Thanks to his extensive education, Matthew has been able to bring a unique, holistic and comprehensive approach to the way he manages all issues ranging from general podiatry, paediatrics, and sports and injury management. Matthew regularly attends the gym and plays several forms of football, basketball and kickboxing. This has assisted him in the treatment of professional and amateur athletes from various sports such as bowling, rugby league, soccer, middle and long distance running, basketball and boxing. Whilst Matthew is very knowledgeable about the diverse nature of all common issues relating to the feet and knees, He has a special interest in lower limb biomechanics, paediatrics (including growing pains and developmental milestones) and the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. Matthew works at our Chatswood and Bella Vista clinics, as well as the new Sydney West Sports Medicine clinic next to the Rooty Hill RSL.

James Stone B.Pod

James completed his bachelor of Podiatry degree at Newcastle University. Through his love of sports James has had his fair share of common foot injuries such as plantar fasciitis, and understands the debilitating pain this can have in daily life. James is kind and enthusiastic and always does his best to treat his patients with the best of care. In his own words, James has told us – “I really love being a podiatrist; I enjoy helping people with their foot problems and find it very satisfying when patients leave the clinic feeling better”. 

James has a wide range of knowledge across all fields of podiatry including Diabetic foot assessment and care, wound care, biomechanics of the lower limb, orthotic therapy and nail surgery. James works in our Chatswood clinic Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. He also works at Bellavista on Wednesdays, and our new clinic at Concord on Fridays. James also does Homevisits around the Chatswood area.
