David Bugg BSc BAppSc (Podiatry)
David Bugg is a senior podiatrist and director of Sydney City Podiatry. David has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and specialises in lower limb biomechanics and sports injuries and is regularly invited by the national media, including Channel Nine and The Sun-Herald, to share his expertise in this area. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Western Sydney and a clinical supervisor at their podiatry teaching clinic. As a former athlete David has a keen interest in the treatment and prevention of injuries in athletes, whether they be professional sportspersons or clients who like to keep fit and pain free. David's extensive experience comes from years of treating elite athletes at Valentine Park Sports Medicine Centre, Sydney AFL clubs and Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre. Playing senior Australian Rules for 14 years prior to practicing podiatry, David regularly experienced chronic shin pain and received regular podiatric treatment. Based on this personal experience, David can empathise first-hand with clients that have sports/activity related injuries.
Matthew Percy BAppSc (Podiatry)
Matthew Percy is a senior podiatrist and director of Sydney City Podiatry. Mathew has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and specialises in lower limb biomechanics and sports medicine. Beyond Sydney City Podiatry, Mathew has presented at national and international conferences including the Australian Podiatry Conference 2001, International Olympic Conference of Sports Science 2000 and NSW Podiatry Conference 1999. He has also been published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medicine Association, received the Ted and Grace Renton Memorial Award in 2000 for Excellence in Biomechanics and featured on A Current Affair as a podiatric expert to examine the influence that running footwear have on sports injuries. Additionally, Matthew has supervised teaching clinics and lectured at the University of Huddersfield (UK) and University of Western Sydney. Matthew, a former semi-professional soccer player has had extensive experience with the treatment of elite athletes and sports people including West Ham United Football Club (English Premier League), Central Coast Mariners Football Club (Australian A-league) and Blacktown City Football Club (NSW Premier League).
Joel Urban BSc (Pod)
Joel had his first experience with Podiatry as an 11 year old growing up in Adelaide. Suffering from a growth related condition causing him to sit out from sport and other activities podiatry treatment was successful in providing relief and he was impressed! So impressed that after completing year 12 in 1995, he enrolled in Podiatry at the University of South Australia. Combining his studies with training with the Southern Redbacks – the South Australia cricket team, kept him busy and opened him up to the life of professional sport. By 2000 the cricket career was over and work as a Podiatrist commenced at the various clinics under the banner of Sydney City Podiatry. During the last 6 years Joel has enjoyed working with the young team of Podiatrists and has treated and managed conditions of people of all ages.Similar to his youth his main interests are in sport – this time sports injury and he has treated amateur footballers of all codes – runners, dancers and the occasional AFL stars. Having said that he enjoys the diversity in covering all aspects of podiatry including management of general Podiatry issues, through to the more complex problems. Working in this field seems to suit his caring, helpful personality.
Nancy Lee BAppSc (Podiatry)
Nancy Lee has extensive knowledge of all podiatric complaints and, specialises in lower limb biomechanics, diabetes and nail surgery. Nancy’s background in diabetic podiatry has provided her with expertise in relation to managing high-risk clients with complex medical historiesNancy sold footwear before becoming a podiatrist. This provided Nancy with footwear selection and fitting experience. Nancy is an active gymnast and dancer. Based on this personal experience, Nancy can empathise ‘first hand’ with clients that have sports injuries.
Mick Habgood BSc (Pod)
Mick has always had a keen interest in sports science and after graduating from a Health Science degree he went back to study podiatry and, specialise in sports injuries and rehabilitation. Over the years, Mick has worked extensively with a professional AFL club as a sports trainer and worked for 5 years fitting footwear at The Athletes Foot. As a podiatrist, the experience gained from this work has provided valuable insights in the management and rehabilitation of many acute and chronic conditions. Now having been an integral member of Sydney City Podiatry for a number of years, Mick thoroughly enjoys all aspects of the profession, ranging from lower limb biomechanics and paediatrics, to diabetics and nail surgery.
Neil Hinchliffe Dip (Chiropody)
Neil Hinchliffe graduated at the Chelsea School of Chiropody, London 1983. He then worked out of the West Middlesex Hospital in West London for 4 years before moving to Sydney in 1987. Since then Neil has been in private practice and has worked in Chatswood for over 16 years. In 23 years of practice, Neil has undertaken such post graduate studies as advanced biomechanics and further studies in diabetes.
